Toddler Care at Bright Future

Toddlers are unique individuals - just leaving babyhood, but not yet preschoolers. They struggle with autonomy by being both strongly independent and then suddenly dependent. A curriculum designed for toddlers must address the unique developmental aspects of this group, and be responsive to their needs and interests.

The toddler curriculum at Bright Future includes several key elements that specifically address the needs of toddlers. The teachers plan their weekly activities based on their observations of the children and determine their interests, needs and abilities.

We have designed our toddler program for each child to transition from the sensory-motor world  to an increasingly social world and the onset of symbolic thinking.

Throughout the day, children make self-directed and guided choices, participate in small groups and projects, join in brief circle-times with the whole group. The teachers plan activities based on the developmental skills of toddlers. Changes to the learning environment, activities, and projects reflect emerging interests and individual goals. Learning centers offer guided experiences that encompass all the skills and understandings necessary for optimum development and success in school.
